Synchrotron - useful light
This text is simply a reference to a BBC Science and Nature article that describes the synchrotron built in 2008 in Daresbury, Cheshire, to produce light that is 100 billion times brighter than X-ray.

At £300m the Diamond Light Source is the largest investment on science made in the United Kingdom in the past 30 years.
Light is indeed a fascinating thing.
Not simple at all.
